Happy Oh Twelve, Kids!

I am loving the shit out of this year so far.

For some reason, as the ball dropped and we popped confetti all over the bar, this sense of joy and excitement came over me and I just knew this year was going to be great. Things were pretty gnarly for me in 2011, and I spent the majority of the year spun out on fear, numbed out and bummed out. Luckily I learned that yes, life can completely and utterly blow sometimes (and the proverbial lemons shall arrive whether you are ready to deal with them or not) but you can choose to look at things in a different light, switch up your perspective and trust that things will work out. I far prefer and attitude of optimism and being grateful for the things that are abundant in my life than sitting in my room listening to Radiohead and not brushing my teeth for 3 days. So in 2012, as the Atmosphere album so aptly says : When life gives you lemons, you paint that shit gold.

Anyway.

Part of my whole "Oh Twelve is Fucking Fantastic" shtick is to embark on a photo a day journey. Taking photos is one of those actions that just makes me feel so alive, in the moment, on point, energized and intrigued. I love the world when I have a camera in my hand. I take amazing pictures. I take awful pictures. I take blurry pictures and I take magical pictures. I just take pictures. And now Ima share em.

2011 sucked for me too- some parts were fantastic but mostly it was ass on a stick. This year is more of the same but I still have optimism- the truth is you can make a decision to be happy or be worried- I have chosen the former and will try my hardest no matter what this year brings.
