We all do our bit to help out the environment in little ways. Bringing your own bags to the store (the Batignolles has come in quite handy!), turn the water off while you’re brushing, using the recycle dumpster instead of the regular dumpster, If it’s Yellow, Let it Mellow…Simple changes that help make a difference, right? Well why not bring it into your scrapbooking as well? Not only does it save money, it saves the planet too!
Here I re-used the negative space from a set of punch out coasters to create little circles for collaging (Ali Edwards does this frequently as well). It gives the page order and continuity while allowing me to go crazy w/ little bits and pieces w/in the circles. A bit of ordered chaos is always fun!
This is a page from a minibook I made (which is featured in We Dare You). It’s an old plastic container from some embellishments that I popped open the plastic, put papers and pictures inside, closed it and added stickers on top. Then I used plain gaffer tape to make a “spine”, punched some holes and slipped it through some jump rings. An interesting, user friendly addition to my book about Chloe. Once you start to look at your supplies differently, all sorts of ideas start popping up. Using corrugated cardboard, cellophane packaging and tins and boxes are great ways to re-use your junk!
